The Rebar Group

The Rebar group uses the bSN process to map the needs and use cases with digital rebar and workflow. The goal is to find a more efficient process for digital rebar in BIM with open standards as the foundation.

We have now created two focus groups that will respectively work on:

• Focus group 01 is working on the rebar workflow using IFC+BVBS. The experts believe this could be a mid-term solution.

• Focus group 02 will work on mapping use cases for digital rebar. The goal is to define an

Rebar Guide 2.0

The document has been prepared by buildingSMART Norway's working group for rebar, hereafter referred to as the rebar group. buildingSMART Norway's rebar group works to facilitate digital ordering and construction of rebar in projects in Norway.

The guide maps the current situation and describes future ambitions. The members of the group are specialists in digital rebar and engage in the network with the aim of creating a smoother flow of agreed data in the process of producing rebar based on information from models on open standards. The rebar group is led by Marcus Rodriguez from BuildingPoint/EDR Medeso.
